Questions & Answers

Common questions about how we work and how we handle your information

Part I

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the Movement Diagnostic take?

Less than 30 minutes on average. A short questionnaire, then guided self-recordings done from your phone. You complete it on your own time, no scheduling required.

What happens after I submit the Diagnostic?

A coach reviews your intake personally. Every video, every answer. The review takes about three hours of focused work.

After the review, we write your program based on what your body showed us. Not on a template.

You receive a Movement Profile within a few days. It summarizes what we found in plain language you can understand.

Do I need any equipment to do the assessment?

No equipment required. You need floor space and a way to prop your phone at waist height. We guide camera angle on-screen.

Is this physical therapy or medical treatment?

No. We are coaches, not medical providers. The Diagnostic analyzes how your body moves. It is not a medical diagnosis. If you have a diagnosed condition or recent injury, work with us alongside your medical care, not instead of it.

What if I have chronic pain or a past injury?

Share the details in the intake. We design the program around what your body can tolerate, and adjust as you respond. If we find something that needs medical attention, we will recommend medical evaluation before training begins.

Why is six months the minimum coaching duration?

Six months is the shortest time a body can rebuild and adapt at the physiological level. Shorter engagements produce surface change without resolving patterns underneath.

How is this different from regular online coaching?

Most coaches write programs based on training history and goals. We assess your movement and body structure first, then design around what we see. Every program is individual.

Is this for beginners, or only people with training experience?

It is for both. People who have never trained often progress quickly because their bodies have not yet built habits to work around. The Diagnostic captures where you are, and the program meets you there.

How do you protect my data and video recordings?

Your responses and videos are stored on an offline drive, not in the cloud. Only email, Stripe payment, and the intake platform itself touch the internet.

Can I get a refund on the Diagnostic?

The Diagnostic fee is non-refundable once you submit your intake materials, because the analysis is real coaching time spent on your file.

The exception: if we review your submission and determine your situation is outside our scope to coach, we decline the engagement and refund the fee in full.

Where are you based? Can I work with you internationally?

B4 is U.S.-based. The work is remote, so we work with clients anywhere. All communication is in English.

Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you complete the Diagnostic, we collect what you give us directly: a name you would like us to use (this does not need to be your legal name), your email address, your demographic information, and your movement recordings.

Where your data lives

Your responses and recordings live on an offline drive, not in the cloud. Only email, Stripe payment, and the intake platform itself touch the internet.

What we do with your data

Your data is used only to design and deliver your program. We do not sell, lease, or share it with third parties. Your videos are reviewed only by B4 staff. Anonymized observations may inform our methodology, but never in a way that identifies you.

Your rights

Request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate information, or deletion (subject to retention obligations). Email jerry.lu@b4performancelab.com.

Retention

Your records are kept on our local drive for the duration of your training engagement with B4. Three months after the engagement ends, all of your records are permanently deleted. Financial records are kept as required by U.S. law.

Terms of Service

What B4 is, and is not

B4 provides individualized movement analysis and program design. Our coaches are movement specialists, not medical providers, and our work supports your training, not your medical care. If you are managing a diagnosed condition, recovering from injury, or working through any concerns that need medical attention, please consult your physician before beginning. By engaging with B4, you confirm that you are medically cleared to exercise.

How the Diagnostic works

The $99 Diagnostic gives a summary of your current movement strategy and guidance on which parts of your body need particular attention, modification, or avoidance during training, written in plain language. It is the entry point and prerequisite for all B4 programs. Completing it does not guarantee acceptance. We work with a limited number of clients and reserve the right to decline engagements outside our scope.

Refunds

The Diagnostic fee is non-refundable once you have submitted your intake materials, as the analysis represents real coaching time committed to your file.

The only exception: if we determine during review that your situation falls outside our scope and we decline to proceed, the full fee is refunded.

For six-month and twelve-month programs, refund terms are in your individual agreement at signup.

Your responsibility during training

You are responsible for training in a safe environment. Stop any movement that causes sharp or unfamiliar pain. Report symptoms to your coach. The coach guides and adjusts, but does not supervise in real time.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, B4 is not liable for injuries, losses, or damages arising from training, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct. By engaging with B4, you accept the ordinary risks of physical training.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated to reflect changes in our service, applicable law, or industry practice. Material changes are communicated to active clients by email.
